Due to the limitation of traditional IO solutions for data traffic transmission, it is urgent to develop a new generation of high-speed IO solutions. MSA's association responds to the changing times and introduces QSFP-DD high-speed IO solutions: it can reach 10 times of the current QSFP+ transmission rate and is one of the most mainstream solutions for next-generation data centers.

As a member of MSA QSFP-DD Association, LUXSHARE-ICT is one of the first companies in the world to release QSFP-DD solutions, becoming the only company that can provide a full set of QSFP-DD solutions (including the full range of DAC/AOC/Connector products).

The QSFP-DD is a new module and cage/connector system similar to the current QSFP, but with an additional row of contacts to provide an eight-channel electrical interface. The QSFP-DD module supports double the number of high-speed electrical interfaces compared to the regular QSFP28 module, hence the "double density" in the full name of QSFP-DD. The QSFP-DD supports a 56Gb/s PAM4 electrically modulated format, which provides up to 4x higher port rates compared to QSFP28 modules, offering solutions up to 200Gb/s or 400Gb/s aggregation. For 1U switch interfaces, accommodating 36 QSFP-DD ports enables aggregated bandwidth of up to 14.4Tb/s in a single switch slot. By quadrupling aggregated switch bandwidth with no change in port density, QSFP-DD can support network bandwidth demands and the continued growth of data center traffic.

Ø QSFP-DD connector is 76 position, 0.8mm pitch SMT type connector.

Ø QSFP-DD connector supports eight channels, each channel can run 28Gbps (NRZ) or 56Gbps (PAM4).

Ø QSFP-DD connectors and cages are backward compatible with QSFP+ and QSFP28 Transceiver and cables.

Ø Configured with 1X1 and 1X4.

Ø Compatible with existing QSFP+/QSFP28 ports to increase the transmission rate of 1U switch to 1.4Tbps;

Ø QSFP-DD active fiber optic cable can transmit up to 70 meters (OM3 multimode fiber) or 100 meters (OM4 multimode fiber)

Ø Built-in frequency data recovery circuit at the transmitting and receiving ends, and also supports bypass mode.

Ø QSFP-DD active optical cable has a low power consumption of less than 4 watts (standard is about 3.5 watts)

Ø QSFP-DD active optical cable can support different product series, such as QSFP-DD to QSFP-DD or QSFP-DD to 2*QSFP28 or QSFP-DD to 8*SFP28.

Ø The QSFP-DD products of Lucent Precision have lower power consumption and therefore meet the heat dissipation standards defined in the specification, and do not require additional heat dissipation cooling systems.

Ø QSFP-DD active optical cable can support 200G transmission rate based on NRZ 25G standard, and will support PAM4 56G standard to reach 400G transmission rate in the future.
